OEC has recognized quality management
DATE: 10/27/2022
OEC – Engineering and Construction successfully concluded the external audits carried out by Bureau Veritas which resulted in the maintenance of the ISO 9001 and PBQP-H certifications. The result attests to the quality of the management model implemented by the company and ensures the certifications for another 12 months, when a new audit cycle will be carried out. The following companies are covered by the new certificate issued by the entity: CNO S/A, CBPO Engenharia Ltda, OECI S/A and Tenenge Engenharia Ltda.
The certification cycles take place over three years, the first being for the certification itself and the others with maintenance audits. In the case of ISO 9001:2015, the scope maintained in the 2022 audit cycle covers several specialty works: industrial, oil & gas and pipelines, petrochemical, mining, energy (hydroelectric, thermoelectric, transmission lines and substations), infrastructure (sanitation, irrigation, road works, highways, railroads, tunnels, bridges, and viaducts), ports and dredging, airports, subways, BRTs, and buildings, including hospitals.
In the certification of the Brazilian Habitat Quality and Productivity Program (PBQP-H), OEC has retained “Level A” in the SIAC category, i.e., full compliance with the requirements. The scope of PBQP-H covers the execution of building, sanitation, road, and special art works. According to Fernando de Azevedo, responsible for Quality at OEC, the maintenance of OEC S.A.’s quality certifications demonstrates the teams’ commitment to the permanent search for excellence in operations.
“With great satisfaction, I would like to congratulate and thank everyone involved, especially the teams from the UHE Ilha dos Pombos, Everest Project, South Gas Terminal, Industrial Plants Project, and EBN Prosub projects, who participated and obtained excellent results in the 2022 external audit process with the certifying body Bureau Veritas, thus maintaining the ISO 9001 and PBQP-H certifications of OEC S.A. for another year,” Azevedo said.
For the Managing Director of OEC in Brazil, Marcelo Hofke, “the certifications show, once again, the engineering capacity and the focus of the teams in the permanent search for excellence in operations.”
Gold Seal for Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory
Other good news that also arrived in the first days of October was the conquest of the Gold Seal of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program, promoted by the Center for Sustainability Studies (FGVces). The recognition, granted for the ninth consecutive year, validates the completeness and legitimacy of the process adopted at the Company that is verified by an independent third party.
For Cauê Borges, responsible for the GHG Inventory at OEC, the SG Seal keeps the company in the spotlight regarding its climate agenda commitments. “Throughout the process, we noticed the growth in the number of participants and the presence of potential and current customers,” reveals Borges.
