Delivery of a highly complex project restores quality of life and dignity to the population in more than five municipalities.

Five months after the rupture of a water main in the city of Betim, metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte (MG), OEC has completed construction of a new structure that has restored regular access to treated water. The work directly benefits a population of more than 1 million people.

The new adductor was contracted by the Minas Gerais Sanitation Company (Copasa) and started working effectively on August 21st, when the structure was connected to the operational system.

The aerial segment over the Paraopeba River is one of the highlights of the project. The branch was designed and executed with arched DN1300 carbon steel piping and operates under a pressure of 250 mca, which translates into good water quantity and pressure for all the region’s residents.

Another notable feature is the time in which it was executed and the complexity attended to in this period. More than 30 workers worked to meet the demand and normalize access to water in a short period of time.

“We understand that treated water is a basic condition for quality of life and dignity. Therefore, with technical capacity and experience, we work tirelessly to deliver the work as soon as possible to the population” said Rafael Andrade de Oliveira, from OEC, operational manager of the project.
