Braskem expands export centers network and announces new logistics and distribution unit in the United States

Braskem announces to the Brazilian market the expansion of their export centers network with a new unit in the port city of Charleston, in South Carolina, east coast of the United States, significantly increasing its global capacity. It is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year, the new export centre will have capacity to ship up to 204,000 tons per year and will provide packaging and storage services to support polypropylene production (PP) units of Braskem in the USA, especially Delta, a unit that is under construction phase in La Porte, Texas.
According to Mark Nikolich, vice-president of Braskem in North America, the company is focused on reinvesting in its business and its leadership position to support clients around the world. “The construction of our new global export center in South Carolina allows us to take advantage of our raw material, polymer production assets in the Gulf of Mexico, Pennsylvania and West Virginia to better serve the needs of our customers around the world. With excellent access to national rail and road networks, this new and important logistics and distribution unit significantly increases Braskem’s international export capacity in North America, says Nikolich.
Currently Braskem has distribution centers for their products in 10 countries in the Americas and Europe, which allow the Brazilian petrochemical company to sell annually, over 16 million tons of thermoplastic resins and other chemicals annually to more than 100 countries.
