With state-of-the-art technology on board, UFV Ribeirão is near to its conclusion
DATE: 07/09/2020
After being temporarily interrupted by the Pernambuco government due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the work on the Ribeirão Photovoltaic Plant was resumed almost a month ago and have reached 75% of total physical advance. Works on the project began in October 2019 with the import of equipment, and the works began in February this year, just before the pandemic hit Brazil. According to André Queiroz, responsible for the execution of the project, the project is expected to be concluded at the end of July. Currently the activities have 40 employees.
One of the differentials of the venture are the bifacial photovoltaic modules, which will provide greater efficiency in power generation and less loss of capacity over time, in addition to having a longer warranty period from the supplier. The technology of bifacial photovoltaic modules allows the generation of energy both with direct irradiation on top of the panels and with indirect irradiation, through the soil surface at the bottom of the modules. Another innovative feature of the plant is the trackers installed, a system that will allow the sun to follow the panels, making the best possible use in energy capture. The energy produced at the plant will be destined to the distributed generation market, that is, To supply the surroundings of the development
When ready, the development will have the capacity to generate 2.5 MW of energy. The plant is being built by OEC in partnership with Alubar Energia on a 50 thousand square meter site in the municipality of Ribeirão, 90 kilometers from Recife (PE).
