OR joins a training program focused on ESG
DATE: 04/23/2021
Early in April, OR joined the Training Program for Companies in the Construction Sector, promoted by the CTE (Technology and Building Center) focused on the ESG topic.
Do you know what ESG means?
The acronym comes from “Environmental, Social and Governance”, and is used to refer to the environmental, social and governance practices of a business, core factors in measuring the sustainability and social impact of a company or business on society. The analysis of these criteria is considered by some to help better determine the future financial performance of companies.
About the training program:
The program has 2 fronts: workshops and consulting. Each participating company names a group of people to compose the Program, which is formed by different companies in the construction industry, from various locations in Brazil, with participants from various generations, experiences, and areas of activity, such as HR, Legal, Sustainability, Engineering, Real Estate, etc.
The workshops will take place over the next few months in remote fortnightly meetings, when theoretical and practical training will be given, divided into specific themes. Two of them have already taken place and members of the OR have actively participated in the discussions.
The consultancies, on the other hand, will be carried out by means of individualized assistance to companies, aimed at supporting the development of action plans, with specific guidelines based on the results of a diagnosis of the company on the ESG topic and on business strategies.
In order to debate the topics and organize the tasks at OR, the ESG Forum was created, including members who will actively participate in the Program, selected according to the topic practice in their PAs, making up a diverse group, which enriches the discussions and the result of this work to be developed in OR.
In addition to OR, other companies in the industry are part of this class of the program:
Arcos, Augusto Veloso, Brookfield, Ecovita, Gafisa, HM, Moura Dubeux, Porto Ferraz, and Tecnisa
Participating in this Program reinforces OR’s commitment to incorporate new ESG practices into the business strategy and into our processes and products, strengthening our ethical, upstanding and transparent performance and contributing to sustainable development.
