The exchange of experiences between different generations and realities has gained a new platform within the Novonor Group. Last Friday (August 14), the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation (FNO) launched the first edition of SERVIR, a corporate volunteer program designed to serve the Group’s companies: Odebrecht Engineering & Construction, Nova Infra Invest, OR, Horiens, and Vexty.

Over the coming months, employees from different business areas, age groups, and countries will take on the role of mentors for students from the Rural Family Schools, educational institutions partnered with the Foundation in the Lower South region of Bahia. Through this initiative, they will contribute to the personal and professional development of the young participants.

The program launch was held online and brought together 90 participants in an event marked by live interactions and the opportunity for mentors and mentees to meet for the first time.

“It is a great joy for us, from the Rural Family Schools, to participate in this volunteer initiative and give our students the opportunity to strengthen their potential. The role the mentors will play is extremely important, and we are grateful for that,” said Ivanete Santos, Principal of the Rural Family School of Presidente Tancredo Neves (CFR-PTN).

Norberto Odebrecht Neto, Superintendent of the Norberto Odebrecht Foundation, also addressed all those who volunteered to dedicate their time, presence, experience, and example to this journey. “By taking on this commitment, you become even more engaged in the Foundation’s work and in the transformation we seek to promote in the communities where we operate. SERVIR was born from this spirit of unity among people and institutions that believe in the power of collaboration and in the transformative potential of new generations,” he said.

An Exchange That Goes Beyond Mentoring

The SERVIR journey, which began in August, will continue through November and will include eight online mentoring sessions and one in-person gathering in the Lower South region of Bahia, strengthening relationships and expanding opportunities for exchange between mentors and mentees.

During each session, participants will engage in practical activities focused on developing competencies among the young people, with the objective of supporting them in building their life and career plans while encouraging youth leadership and initiative.

The eight mentoring sessions will be guided by the shared values of Our Culture, including “We act with a spirit of service,” “We are diverse and inclusive,” and “We promote sustainable development.” Practiced across the Novonor Group and inspired by the Odebrecht Entrepreneurial Technology (TEO), Our Culture recognizes education and work as drivers of human development and values people’s potential, continuous improvement, and transparency in relationships.

Fernanda Antonelli, People Director at Horiens, shared her expectations for the program during the launch event. “Together, we will build unique experiences through genuine dialogue, active listening, and a welcoming environment. We will also further strengthen Our Culture, reflect on our values, and connect with them through the way we relate to people,” she said.
