On the afternoon of last Monday, September 9, the Odebrecht Foundation defended the case “Communicating Impacts of Social Transformation – PDCIS Impact Assessment Communication Campaign” in the national stage of the Aberje 2020 Award. Held in digital format, via an Aberje YouTube broadcast, the presentation highlighted the work behind the PDCIS Impact Assessmentand the communication actions performed throughout 2019 to give visibility to the study.

The case was defended by Cristiane Nascimento, responsible for Sustainability, Partnerships and Communication at the Odebrecht Foundation, and Camila Giuliani, Communication analyst at the institution. Winner of the North and Northeast regional stage in the Organizational Sustainability category, the Foundation competed for the national award with Gerdau, FCA – Fiat Chrysler Automóveis Brasil, BRK Ambiental and Fundação Grupo Boticário de Proteção à Natureza.

Defense of the case was in digital format, via Aberje transmission on YouTube

“For us, as a Third Sector institution, winning the regional stage of the Aberje 2020 Award was an important recognition. We were able, in the national defense of the case, to stand side to side with large companies and show what the Impact Assessment of our Social Program, the PDCIS, consisted of, and how this pioneering study contributed to re-qualify the way we communicate with social investors, beneficiaries and society in general”, explains Cristiane.

In addition to presenting the results of the Impact Assessment and the implemented communication actions, the defense also counted on a video testimonial from Joyce Silva, one of the adolescents benefited by the PDCIS in the rural area of Bahia’s Baixo Sul region. “We sought to approach the public using photos and videos of people whose lives were transformed by the PDCIS. Joyce’s speech closed our presentation and showed in practice the impacts of the Program that we communicated so much in 2019”, scored Camila Giuliani.

The Aberje Award – acronym for Brazilian Association of Corporate Communication – is recognized by the communication executives of the main companies in the country as the most important award in the sector. The presentations in the other categories continue until Friday, November 13th, and the nomination of the winners should be announced in December 2020.
