The practice of open innovation has become habitual and increasingly present at Ocyan. Proof of this is the recognition obtained for the second consecutive year in the Top 100 Open Corps Ranking. This time, in addition to the company being among the top 3 in the Oil & Gas category, we rose in the overall ranking, now appearing in the list of the top 50, in just one year.

The result is the fruit of a growing relationship work and investments in programs with startups. Together, the Ocyan Waves programs – Booster and Challenge – already have more than 340 startups mapped, 23 pilots executed, and 15 contracts signed.

For the award, relationships with startups that entered through other routes are also counted. This shows that the relationship with startups also happens in other areas at Ocyan, such as companies that were hired for recruitment and selection for the trainee program, for MSO contract management, and even for 3D equipment production design.

Keeping an eye on the future

The agenda of the Ocyan Waves Booster, the Cleantechs acceleration program, runs until February 2023. In it, three startups are being accelerated in a customized process that relies on startup capital. In addition, the challenge agenda remains open continuously, seeking startups and running pilot projects connected to our macro themes. And also, through project management in the Innovation area, the company keeps track of the projects that have become rollouts.

“Our intention with Ocyan Waves was to create a prototyping environment within Ocyan while accelerating the national ecosystem. As the years went by, we saw that our role was even more important, to positively influence the market with our role as major player and agile posture. Being ranked again just shows us that we are on the right track and that the startup ecosystem recognizes our efforts”, celebrates Patricia Grabowsky, Innovation Manager.
