  • Blue November: men’s health and prostate cancer prevention month

    DATE: 11/11/2020

    Published by: Horiens

It is no secret that healthy habits and medical follow-up can save lives. These habits are powerful tools against a number of diseases, including prostate cancer, which is among the major health problems for men. The good news is, if detected early, there is a 90% chance of cure!

However, for this it is important to not postpone your exams for later. This warning is about the importance of being the protagonist of your own health.

Data from the Ministry of Health show that 70% of Brazilian men only go to the doctor because of family influence, and the lack of tests and medical follow-ups causes 20% of prostate cancer cases to be diagnosed late, significantly reducing the chances of cure.

    How to prevent?

In case of prostate cancer, in addition to healthy habits, laboratory tests and medical follow-up from the age of 40 are indicated, especially in case of family history.

Tests with no cost-sharing during Blue November

The Blue November campaign wants to encourage men to monitor their health, so tests such as the PSA and others related to men’s health will be exempt from cost-sharing. The tests must be performed until 11/30/2020.

List of cost-sharing exempt tests for the Blue November campaign:

    Test Request

    – To obtain an exam request, ask for support from your company’s Health area or go see a doctor of your trust.

Members of the São Paulo office can request a medical examination to the SP Health Support area by clicking here.

Healthy habits and medical follow-up can save thousands of lives every day. Do your part!
